Situated Among the Southern Alps, Haka House Aoraki Mt Cook features views of Mount Cook, and is 200 metres from Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre. It offers affordable accommodation with a seasonal barbecue area, a self-catering guest kitchen and free access to a sauna room.
Guests can choose to stay in a lively dormitory room or in the comfort of a private room. Toilet and bathroom facilities are shared. Up to 5GB of free WiFi is available for guests.

Everything was great! Beautiful location, beautiful interior as well. Haka House is beautiful place that hits into the environment very well (low building, solar power, wood, natural materials…) It is well maintained and exceptionally clean. Kitchen is well equipped, well organised and tidy. Dinning and lounge areas are really nice and have plenty of natural light. Building has sauna, laundry, patio, enough bathrooms and a few different common areas for relaxation. Even if you are not into hiking, it is worth visiting Mt Cook Village and staying at this amazing space.

All the other guests in our 8 bed mixed dorm were considerate and kept noise to a minimum. The rooms were very clean and everyone tidied up after themselves in the kitchen and bathroom areas.

Each bunk bed had their own curtains and usb plugs. It is the perfect spot to discover the breathtaking Mount Cook National Park. I did several day hikes and even an overnight hike. First time I have slept in an 8-ppl dorm by myself! The best organized kitchen I have seen so far with perfect gas cooker, good and clean dish towel, soap for hands (and it is surprisingly not that that common in youth hostels!) Will definitely come back.
