What a lovely place with lovely staff! I stayed in a one bedroom apartment which had a view from the patio out over the water. The unit was spacious and immaculately clean. A well appointed kitchen that even had an oven. Excellent water pressure in the shower and great wi-fi. Close to everything that Mangonui has to offer - shops, cafes, waterfront walkway and the famous fish shop. Also within an easy drive is the beautiful Karikari peninsula. Highly recommended!
Offering a stunning, absolute beachfront location, Taipa Beach Resort features free WiFi and a swimming pool with a hot tub. Guests can enjoy the tennis court and BBQ areas.

Mangonui is a pleasant small place with a beautiful waterfront. Considering its size it has a good range of eating places as well as a supermarket. The heritage trail is interesting and also a good walk, although there are some steep sections once you leave the waterside. There are good views all around. At low tide there is an interesting range of bird life on the exposed mud. There is obviously good fishing. This a good place to tke a trip up to Cape Reinga and the nearby KariKari peninsula has a winery and good beaches.

Original town buildings in a unspoilt, beautiful, harbour setting with excellent boardwalk along the foreshore. Good information provided on the old buildings about their previous uses. Reasonable range of places to eat.

Loved our stay in Mangonui.
Loved our stay in Mangonui. Very central apartment lovely and relaxing atmosphere, very quiet at night. Only minuses were our room was very hot at night and the bed was mediocre but ok for a couple of nights. We ate at Jess’cafe right below the apartment and the food was STUNNING!!! The board walk is fabulous and everything was super accessible by foot.

Mangonui is a cute little town with a wonderful waterfront boardwalk. When we discovered that we could join a bus tour from Paihia to Cape Reinga we knew our decision to stay at The Old Oak Boutique Hotel was perfect on every level.
Clean, spacious and beautiful location. Mangonui is around the corner and a Four Square available 3 mi utes drive away. Easy check in and check out. Ironing board, iron, laundry and oven in a good sized kitchen provided which makes it really feel like home away from home. The beach is stunning and having coffee on the balcony with the ocean view was a serene experience.
We didn't get to use the hot tub or enjoy the kayaks provided as we were there for a wedding, but we plan to return for a long weekend.
The location is perfect with great views. We too the top floor room this time which is much quieter and provides better views out to sea. The pool is perfect for a length or two and everywhere is within walking distance - cafes, shops etc. More shops are a quick car-ride away at Cooper's Beach, one of the finest beaches in the country. There are some terrific coastal walks accessible from the hotel and the drive up to the peninsular is a treat if you want even more isolated beaches.
Beautiful views overlooking Mangonui. The beds were very comfy and the unit had everything we needed for our get away. Chester was very friendly and accommodating to our family. Loved the free parking and great location which meant we could leave our car at the hotel, have a wine and walk 5 mins to the restaurant for dinner. Sky TV was a bonus to watch rugby later. Highly recommend and will be back but for a longer stay next time.
This was the super amazing stay! We loved Ranui Lodge totally and the views from the rooms was just amazing! We had all we need, kitchen, bathroom, laundry service, parking and beautiful view and garden&patio. Michelle is the best host ever, she is so friendly and helpful. We felt like she is someone in our family. Thanks to her and her lovely lodge. Definitely will stay again if ever visit Mangonui!
Despite the terrible weather at the time of our stay, the view on the bay was nice. The place is very central in Mangonui and we were able to walk to different restaurants nearby. We liked the fact that they kept the old building authentic yet it was comfortable, warm and clean, a very good balance between old and new.
The host made us good recommendation about local restaurants.
Fiona gave us a very warm welcome and we spent a wonderful time exchanging stories with a good glass of wine. The B&B is beautiful, very comfortable and Fiona prepares a wonderful breakfast which we had with an amazing view from the terrace. This is an outstanding B&B and we hope to return soon with more time to explore Mangonui and surroundings.
The Old Oak Hotel is a lovely hotel in an ideal position in Mangonui. We enjoyed the short walk in to the village. Our room was spacious and had been thoughtfully equipped with everything one might need, and very comfortable. The owners were most welcoming and helpful.
The managers were awesome. The unit was very comfortable and the location was perfect, within walking distance of the main part of Mangonui. The unit overlooked the harbour and positioned for watching the outstanding sunrises. I would highly recommend.
The views are exceptional for such a reasonably priced motel. The motel itself is what it is: a motel built in the sixties and not updated since but it has a good feel, is spotlessly clean and the linen is crisp. I plan on becoming a regular.
Loved everything about Mangonui Motel! Customer service excellent. Our room was so spacious and had everything we needed. The views are absolutely stunning! Had a great stay. Till next time 😊
The history of this hotel is impressive. Gardens are immaculate. The room was luxury in every respect. Our time here was special. The hosts are wonderful. We will come again.
really lovely view from the upstairs balcony. Table and chairs on balcony is a great location for breakfast. Mangonui is a interesting waterfront with many heritage buildings.
A comfortable and spacious motel unit with a glorious view. Kitchen was well equipped, good WiFi, comfortable beds. The motel is being renovated. Owner was very helpful.
