It felt so lush, very good value for a premium accommodation. Our room was a twin bed and we could see the ocean. There was an alexa speaker playing jazz when we arrived at the room. The shower was amazing, two shower heads and lots of space. The body washes also smelt divine.

Location was perfect for walking to the Seal Colony along the path and the beach . The front Desk hours were very limited and the breakfast left a bit to be desired . But the location and the quaint courtyard make up for its downfalls.

Enjoyed the whale watching tour - the day was reasonably calm so no one was seasick thank goodness. Staff were informatiive and shared the story of the whales and dolphins. The map showing us the travel route was very helpful to understand the trnech and which direction and area we were headed to.

Kaikoura is a 2 hr drive from our home, so we regularly visit for long weekends. It's a special part of NZ where people and nature can interact. There's something special about how the mountains meet the sea. And of course the fresh seafood is spectacular

WhaleWatch trip was very good.
WhaleWatch trip was very good. Great cafes: Flo and Co has excellent coffee. Sime's Kitchen had great breakfast and lunch - vegan choices were delicious. Tipsy Foodies also recommended. Southern Paua shop and factory highly recommended - amazing range of jewellery, carvings and gifts. Some exquisite pounamu too. Best place to buy gifts in Kaikoura!!
Novel Findings is a great bookshop and homewares shop - don't miss it!
Loved the Ngāi Tahu artworks beside the highway, murals on the railway bridge and buildings. It's really worth checking the "Neat Places Kaikoura" website - lots of great suggestions for cool places and things to do in Kaikoura.

While we just needed to be here so that we could get on an earlier whale watching cruise the next day, the property that all of our needs, and we would definitely consider another stay. our room had of sliding glass door, overlooking the bay, with a small table and chairs for outdoor dining.
The property is away from downtown Kaikoura, so it was very quiet and very relaxing.
Beautiful location. Excellent facilities all brand new. Super clean rooms with great shower. Lovely welcome
handwritten note and treats. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Great on site restaurant with lovely staff and amazing food. Close to waterfront and amenities around Kaikoura. Definitely a 5 star hotel experience.
Room was very clean. Room was cold when we arrived but staff provided an extra heater when asked. Bathroom was good but a heater would enhance. Overall the room was value for money. Had a kitchen sink which some motels don't have and I dislike having to do dishes in the bathroom, so a definite plus.
The location is outstanding, right next to shore on Kaikoura peninsula. It is a quirky old hotel that has good atmosphere, and a great bar and restaurant. The included breakfast was quite adequate, even included gluten free vogels. Great upstairs balcony to relax and eat breakfast on.
Michelle - Absolutely the perfect person who greeted us and us so welcome and the staff, superb. Rome was absolutely spotless, and Michelle offered to put my catch of fish (went charter fishing with Tommo & Shane Kaikoura Charters) in the freezer for me. Again, superb, loved it.There
This was a great place to stay, easy walk into town area. Lobster Inn Tavern served great evening meals. Unit was very clean and comfortable. We had a back unit which was very quiet. Good parking, diagonally across road is a supermarket and many eateries along the road to motels.
Very warm, friendly, cosy hostel. Quiet, nice rooms, clean spacious kitchen, nice addition of a fireplace when it was cold and raining outside. Great outdoor space to relax in, and very well located near the town's shops and the ocean. Cheap laundry too!
The place is just a short drive from Kaikoura main hub. Our room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Judy the host is kind and helpful. Ample parking available. Nice continental breakfast and great view from the breakfast area!
Everything, the location, best views of the ocean and Kaikouras, quiet, fabulous unit. Get the courtesy van to the Pier Hotel for dinner then walk home on sunset, magic. Lydia was amazing, so helpful and had great recommendations
A great location in Kaikoura, right near the beach which was awesome and the New World is around the corner. I liked that it was nice and quiet. It’s also about a 20 minute walk to the town. The room was very tidy and clean.
location next to the pier hotel is brilliant (best place for crayfish dinner in Kaikoura and always busy). Beds were super comfortable and the overall facilities are great. Hosts were extremely friendly and accomodating.
Nice quiet location with access to the beach across the street. perfect for a pre dinner walk. Enjoyed being away from busy Kaikoura, but yet close. Be sure to walk the Kaikoura Peninsula Walkway - it was wonderful!
Fabulous drive around the wild coast-line. Loved the long walk around the Kaikoura Peninsula. Loads of seals and pups. Pre-dinner drink, then smoked meats and salad at "Slam". The pier hotel also fab for all seafoods.
Lovely 2 bedroom home away from home in Kaikoura. Would definitely stay here again. Nicely decorated, good location with parking, enough comfortable beds for our family of 5 with 3 adult sized children.
The accommodations has got all you need, the bathroom is luxury camping. Having a seperate kitchen on your own camp site is also a bonus. Beds are comfy!
We loved this hotel. It was so clean. The room was very nice. It had everything we needed. Great bathroom/shower. The front staff were kind and helpful.
